Summer in Canada is a cherished season, marked by warm weather (hopefully), long days, and opportunities to unwind and reconnect with loved ones. From coast to coast, Canadians look forward to this time of year to recharge their batteries and indulge in the beauty of nature. Underwriters and Case Coordinators will also take a well-deserved break from their day-to-day work.
And so, the show must go on!
To keep your business moving while your regular underwriter and case coordinator are away, we’re using a “buddy” system to redistribute work to ensure all policies are taken care of. You and your clients can trust that their insurance matters are in capable hands. Your “buddy” underwriter and case coordinator will support any questions you have regarding your policy.
Your regular underwriter and case coordinator will include their out-of-office dates in their email signatures so you’ll know when to contact your “buddy”. And their out-of-office message will include your buddy’s name and contact information.
We’re here to give you the attention and assistance you need, even during peak vacation times. Our dual support system of underwriters and case coordinators highlights our commitment to providing seamless service to you.

Advisor Portal is a great resource for status updates – check out My Clients (sign in required) for a summary of what’s outstanding on your policies, including requirements, additional information, and even policy approvals. For questions about your new business policy, your usual resources are available.
Flexible telephone interviews
Understanding the importance of summer plans, telephone interviews are tailored to accommodate your clients. With our telephone interview application, clients can book their call around their schedule and vacation plans. This flexible approach ensures that the application process remains smooth and uninterrupted, allowing clients to enjoy their summer while addressing their insurance needs.
MAUDE – (Manulife Automated Underwriting Decision Engine)
MAUDE will be working overtime this summer to process life insurance applications, making decisions within seconds of a submission or the completion of a tele-interview! With 40% of applications eligible for MAUDE, this will help maintain our service standard and honour our commitments to you and your clients.
